1) POSITION

Terms of Service

One (1) year renewable contract, subject to satisfactory performance.

Job Purpose

The Grounds Man is responsible for maintaining and developing the College

grounds in a safe, secure, and well-maintained condition to provide a pleasant

and attractive environment. The role ensures that all sports fields, landscaped

areas, and outdoor facilities are maintained to a high standard while delivering

a responsive grounds maintenance service across the College.

Reports to Real Estate Manager

Job Specification

For appointment to this position, an applicant must have:

Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE). Any post-

secondary qualification will be an added advantage.

ii) At least one (1) year of experience in grounds maintenance,

landscaping, gardening, or a related field.

iii) Knowledge of lawn care, gardening, and maintenance of outdoor

facilities.

iv) Ability to operate basic grounds maintenance equipment and tools.

Physical fitness and the ability to work outdoors under varying weather

conditions.

vi) Good communication and teamwork skills.

vii) Flexibility to work on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays when

required.

Duties and

Responsibilities

Work under the direction of the Real Estate Manager to provide

efficient grounds maintenance services across the College.

ii) Carry out routine maintenance of sports fields, landscaped areas,

lawns, gardens, flower beds, trees, hedges, pathways, driveways,

fences, and other outdoor spaces in accordance with work

schedules or instructions.

iii) Prepare, mark, set up, and maintain sports playing surfaces and

support the preparation of College grounds for ceremonies,

sporting events, examinations, and other official functions.

iv) Mow, edge, trim, water, weed, prune, mulch, fertilize, and

maintain lawns, shrubs, plants, trees, and landscaped areas,

ensuring grounds remain clean, safe, and attractive.

Remove weeds, leaves, litter, and other debris from the College

grounds and maintain general cleanliness of outdoor areas.

vi) Operate, clean, and perform routine maintenance of grounds

maintenance vehicles, tractors, machinery, tools, and equipment,

and promptly report any defects or maintenance requirements.

vii) Perform general cleaning duties in assigned areas, including

sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming, dusting, wiping,

washing, and polishing buildings, classrooms, furniture, fittings,

and other facilities.

viii) Clean toilets, urinals, hand basins, sinks, and other sanitary

facilities, replenish consumable supplies, and ensure hygiene

standards are maintained.

ix) Collect, transport, and dispose of waste in designated collection

points while maintaining cleanliness throughout the College

compound.

Handle cleaning chemicals, machinery, and equipment safely in

accordance with established procedures and the College's Health

and Safety Policy.

xi) Work effectively as part of a team, comply with assigned work

schedules, and maintain a safe working environment by promptly

reporting hazards, damaged equipment, unsafe conditions, and

maintenance issues.

xii) Perform any other duties related to grounds maintenance,

landscaping, cleaning, and general support services as may be

assigned by the supervisor from time to time.

3) POSITION

Terms of Service

Job Purpose

To provide high-quality housekeeping and cleaning services by maintaining a

clean, safe, hygienic, and conducive environment across the College. The

Cleaner is responsible for cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining assigned

facilities, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental

standards.

Job Specification

Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE). Any post-secondary

qualification will be an added advantage.

At least one (1) years' experience in a cleaning, housekeeping, or related

role.

Basic digital literacy and the ability to responsibly use simple digital tools

relevant to assigned duties.

Basic awareness of the College's Strategic Plan and the ability to support

its implementation will be an added advantage.

Flexibility to work on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays when

required.

Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
High standards of integrity, reliability, and personal hygiene.

a. Clean and maintain offices, classrooms, hostels, washrooms, common

areas, and other assigned facilities to ensure high standards of cleanliness

and hygiene.

b. Sweep, mop, scrub, vacuum, dust, wash, sanitize, and polish floors,

furniture, fixtures, fittings, windows, ledges, shelves, cupboards, and

other surfaces.

c. Clean and disinfect toilets, urinals, hand basins, sinks, bathrooms, and

other sanitary facilities, ensuring they remain hygienic and well-

maintained.

d. Replenish consumable supplies such as soap, toilet tissue, paper towels,

and other cleaning essentials as required.

e. Empty waste bins, collect and transport waste to designated disposal

points, and maintain cleanliness throughout the College compound.

f. Operate and properly maintain cleaning equipment, including vacuum

cleaners, buffers, and other mechanized cleaning tools, ensuring they are

safely stored after use.

g. Follow approved procedures for the safe handling and use of cleaning

chemicals, equipment, and materials to prevent damage to facilities and

ensure personal safety.

h.

Conduct routine inspections of assigned areas and promptly report

maintenance defects, damages, safety hazards, spills, leaks, or repair

needs to the supervisor.

Ensure compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act

(OSHA), 2007, and all College health, safety, and environmental policies

and procedures.

j. Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the College compound, including

clearing litter and debris and undertaking light grounds maintenance

duties where assigned.

k. Work collaboratively with other staff to maintain a clean, safe, and

welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

l. Perform any other cleaning, housekeeping, or related duties as may be

assigned by the Principal or the supervisor from time to time.
