About the Role


The Country Security Manager is responsible for implementing and improving Haleon’s security framework across all Kenyan sites. This role ensures the protection of people, assets, and operations while driving country security risk mitigation. It will operate under the functional direction of the Regional Security Manager (Middle East and Africa) and Group Security, ensuring strong alignment with Group Security Strategy and enterprise objectives. A significant focus will be on contractor management and engagement with local security vendors to ensure best-in-class contract delivery and performance. The position requires strong awareness of Kenya’s unique security landscape, including crime rates, cargo theft risks, and regulatory compliance challenges.


The role also supports in-country investigations, anti-counterfeit efforts, external partnerships, third-party contract management, and the development of Haleon’s Corporate Security work instructions.


Operational Responsibilities


Security Operations & Supply Chain Risk


Lead the country 2nd line physical security delivery across Haleon’s manufacturing, R&D, commercial, and corporate environments.
Integrate corporate security risk management into end-to-end supply chain operations, including transport, warehousing, third-party logistics, and critical supplier sites.
Collaborate with Supply Chain, Procurement, and Quality teams to assess vulnerabilities and implement proactive controls that protect continuity, integrity, and brand reputation.
Monitor neighboring and country-geopolitical, criminal, and environmental threats that may impact operations or supply resilience and develop mitigation strategies accordingly.
Knowledge of Kenya’s security regulations and crime trends.
Champion adoption of advanced security technologies and continuous improvement tailored to local threat environments.

Procedure Development & Standards Implementation


Drive the implementation of Haleon’s Corporate Security Policy and associated standards.
Ensure alignment with local regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and enterprise risk frameworks.
Establish mechanisms for compliance, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement across all sites and functions.
Provide audits, assessments, and assurance activities to validate security procedure effectiveness.

Third-Party Security Contract Management


Manage the Business Units portfolio of third-party security contracts, which includes both manned guarding and technical security services, as well as maintaining relationship with the manned guarding account director.
Ensure service quality, compliance, and alignment with Haleon’s operational needs.
Build and maintain supplier relationships, fostering innovation, responsiveness, and continuous improvement.

External Partnerships & Intelligence Sharing


Develop and maintain relationships with local law enforcement agencies, industry bodies, regulatory authorities, and peer organizations.
Represent Haleon in relevant local forums and working groups to share intelligence, benchmark practices, and influence standards.
Leverage external partnerships to enhance threat awareness, investigative support, and coordinated response capabilities.

Leadership Engagement & Advisory


Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior leaders across the Business Unit.
Provide clear, confident, and timely security risk briefings—both written and verbal—to support informed decision-making.
Ensure leadership confidence in the security function through proactive engagement, transparency, and alignment.
Translate complex risk scenarios into actionable business advice that supports resilience and operational continuity.
