PARK FEESOTHER CHARGES
CONSERVATION FEES 2025
Terms and Conditions Apply
African Citizen means a national of other Af rican
Countries other than East Af rica;
Child means a person f rom five (5) years but below 18
years;
Corporate Pass means access rights issued to eligible
utility providers having installations within national
parks, national reserves and sanctuaries;
Daily Fee means the fee payable for a single access to a
national park, national reserve or sanctuary and which
shall be valid for a period not exceeding twenty-four
hours;
Disability has the meaning assigned to it under section
2 of the Persons with Disabilities Act, 2025; No. 4 of
established under the Treaty for the Establishment of the
East Af rican Community Act; Cap. 4C.
Excursion Boat means glass bottomed boats, dhows
and catamarans with a carrying capacity of a maximum
of two crew members and a maximum carrying capacity
of forty passengers, that undertake various expedition
activities within the Marine Protected Areas including
snorkeling, diving, bird watching, sunset cruises and
mangrove visits;
Non-excursion Boat means commercial and sport
fishing boats;
Non-resident means a national of any country other
than an East Af rican citizen or Af rican citizen;
Resident means a person, other than a Kenyan citizen
or an East Af rican citizen, residing in Kenya with valid
resident permit;
Student means an individual of not older than twenty-
three years f rom a recognized secondary school, college
or university who is visiting a national park, national
reserve, marine park, marine reserve or sanctuary for
educational purposes under a documented and organized
arrangement with that educational institution;
Water Sport means jet skiing, windsurfing, wakeboarding,
sailing, canoeing or kayaking, paddle boarding, water
skiing, parasailing, banana boat rides, powerboating and
jet boat rides;
The following persons shall be exempt from paying
conservation fees specified in regulation 5—
Exemptions.
(a) a Kenyan citizen aged seventy years and older
(b) a person with disability;
(c) a child aged five years and younger;
(d) a tour driver, a guide, boat crew and a porter who is
registered by the Tourism Regulatory Authority and is
a member of a registered Association.
(e) Beach Management Units fishing boats shall be
exempt f rom paying boat anchoring fees
Tourism Experiences fees does not include entry fee;
Security fee for one section of rangers is applicable for
event sites after 6:30pm;
All KWS parks, reserves and sanctuaries are SINGLE USE
PLASTIC FREE ZONES
